Have you ever wondered where you can find hundreds of books? The Scholastic Bookfair is a place where thousands of books can greet you. Fantasy, realistic, non-fiction, and historical fiction books are all found there.
All of this happens because of Susie Oleson and her dedicated volunteers. Susie has been running the book fair for 6 years. During the book fair, she has important jobs: she has to organize books, make sure everything is set up right, ensure there are enough volunteers to run the fair every day, train new volunteers, and much more.
There are many steps to putting together a book fair. First, you have to order a big pack of books. Then, the truck driver and Ms. Mary, our beloved custodian, must take the bookcases out of the truck and bring them to the cafeteria. After that, volunteers must open up all the cases and ensure everything looks nice, neat, and in the correct orientation. Then, they have to set up the registers. Once all this is done, customers can start coming in.
Did you know that kids can volunteer at the book fair? Well, you can! You can help set up books and more! But only if your parents are volunteers. Oh, the students are coming. We have to get ready. Bye!
