The ONE Pewaukee Robotics Program celebrated 20 FIRST teams for the 20th Anniversary of the FIRST Program in Pewaukee. With 12 Explore Teams of 5K - 3rd grade students, 7 Challenge Teams in 4th - 8th grade, and one high school FIRST Robotics Competition Team, Pewaukee has over 170 students involved in this international program that teaches kids about STEAM activities.
We learned many things this year, such as teamwork, exploring new ideas, coding a robot, and how art can be incorporated into STEM activities. Did you know students participating in art activities are four times more likely to be recognized for academic achievement? Or that students who participate in FIRST have access to college scholarships? By designing a robot, coding the robot to complete challenges, researching and presenting an idea that could positively impact our community, and demonstrating core values such as inclusion, impact, innovation, teamwork, and discovery, we had a lot of FUN competing against other teams this season!
